Amlozal 5mg tablets contain amlodipine besylate, a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina).​

Indications

Manages hypertension to lower risks of stroke, heart attack, or kidney problems; also treats chronic stable angina and vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina by relaxing blood vessels.​

Dosage

Typical starting dose for adults is 5mg once daily, adjustable up to 10mg based on response; for children 6-17 years, 2.5-5mg daily. Elderly or those with liver issues may start lower.​

Administration

Take orally once daily with or without food; swallow whole and consistently timed.​

Precautions

Contraindicated in hypersensitivity or severe aortic stenosis; watch for edema, dizziness, or palpitations. Use caution in liver disease.
