الوصف
Asthalin Inhaler is a salbutamol (albuterol) 100 microgram metered-dose inhaler used as a “reliever” medicine for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works quickly to relax airway muscles and open the breathing passages during wheeze, chest tightness, or shortness of breath.
Because direct access to external medical references is temporarily unavailable, the following is general, standard salbutamol–inhaler information and does not replace your own product leaflet or doctor’s advice.
What Asthalin Inhaler is used for
-
Rapid relief of asthma symptoms such as wheeze, tight chest, and breathlessness.
-
Relief of bronchospasm in COPD and for prevention of exercise‑ or allergen‑induced bronchospasm (taken shortly before trigger exposure).
How it is usually taken
-
Typical adult/child relief dose: 1–2 puffs when needed, with a cap on how many times per day your doctor allows (commonly up to about 4 times per day in stable patients).
-
For prevention before exercise or allergen exposure, many regimens use 1–2 puffs about 10–30 minutes beforehand, as directed by a clinician.
Important safety points
-
If you need your reliever inhaler more often than your usual pattern (e.g., several times daily or at night), that often means asthma/COPD is not well controlled and controller treatment (like inhaled steroids) may need adjustment.
-
Overuse can cause side effects such as tremor, fast heartbeat, palpitations, headache, or feeling jittery; urgent care is needed if breathing remains difficult despite repeated doses.
Technique and practical tips
-
Shake the inhaler before each puff, breathe out gently, then seal lips around the mouthpiece, press once and breathe in slowly and deeply, then hold your breath for about 10 seconds if possible.
-
A spacer device is strongly recommended for children and for adults who struggle with timing, as it improves lung delivery and reduces throat deposition.
When to seek urgent care
-
If usual doses no longer relieve symptoms, or relief lasts a much shorter time than before.
-
If you need repeated puffs close together for a flare and still feel tight, breathless at rest, or unable to speak full sentences.
For exact dosing and limits, check your specific Asthalin Inhaler leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist; bring your inhaler to visits so they can check your technique.
